Lately Live with John Ferrara – Putting the Social in Sales.

Nimble is an award winning social sales and marketing CRM. In Jon’s own words: “Nimble basically is that nudge on your shoulders, if you know Yiddish, it’s that thing that reminds you about stuff. The Importance of Social Selling

We know selling is so much more than telling someone to just “go buy this”. In today’s highly competitive market, you have to develop at least some type of relationship with a person in order to get them to be interested in your product or service.

In a sense, it’s always been that way. Back in the bartering system, in the old cave man days, you probably had to know them pretty well in order to get them to agree to trade their piece of fruit for your shiny rock. (Did cavemen even use the barter system? Or did I watch too much SchoolHouse Rock growing up?)

Jon builds off of the evolution of social selling by stating, “Business is social life is social. People buy from people they like, know,and trust, and so social selling is just the evolution of the way we’ve always done business”.

Trying to gather as much information about a person as you can (like their LinkedIn account, Twitter, Instagram, etc) is the first step to see who they really are (or at least, who they want you to see them as)  and begin connecting with them. That’s why Nimble is so great because it helps you compile all of those social platforms and evolves with them as they change. That way you can always stay connected with people and have different platforms at your disposal to get to know them through.

No “I” in Team

One point Jon touches on quite a bit is the importance of having a strong team around you. The stronger your support system is and the people you can rely on are, the better work you yourself are able to do!

He says, “If you think about your tribe, your garden, your life as their sustainable garden around you, what you want to do is you want to nurture that garden on a regular basis in order to keep it fruitful”.

Could that have been put in a more beautiful and touching way? No, no it could not.

I’m not kidding when I say Jon offers equal amounts selling advice as he offers life advice. I really feel like a changed person after listening to all the greatness he had to share with us.
